Competence Centre Dementia Care
The focus of the Dementia Cluster is on the care and support of people with dementia. Under the direction of the Centre for Dementia Care at the Institute of Applied Nursing Sciences (IPW) at the FHS St.Gallen, the cluster will bring together the research expertise of the participating partners with the aim of integrating innovative approaches into the care and support of people with dementia and providing long-term solutions.
The national research agenda on dementia will be developed with the involvement of stakeholders from both scientific and practitioner backgrounds. This agenda will prioritise topics from the Dementia Care Research area and propose them for systematic processing.
Another key component of the Dementia Cluster is to disseminate knowledge. A knowledge platform on dementia will be developed and its effectiveness assessed. In addition, the renowned St.Galler Demenz-Kongress (St.Gallen dementia congress) will be expanded to include an additional scientific area that will promote the exchange of knowledge between practitioners and researchers.
Furthermore, the Techno-Roadmap 2030 will be developed to provide a framework for user-centric technology in the care of people with dementia, and a Future-Dementia-Care-LAB will be designed. In terms of development and design, this will bring together into a single framework the expertise, requirements and possibilities of user-centric technology from the perspective of the engineering and nursing sciences.
